Together is designed for intimate conversations between partners. Session audio, transcripts, and analysis may reveal details about your relationship, health, emotions, or other sensitive aspects of your life. You choose what to record and submit. Please consider this carefully before using the App.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Together
- Authenticate you and secure your account
- Transcribe audio and generate Gottman Method–aligned communication analysis
- Store your session history locally and, when signed in, sync it to your cloud account
- Enforce subscription tiers and monthly session limits
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the service
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
We do not use your session content to train general-purpose AI models. Third-party AI providers (AssemblyAI and Anthropic) process your data solely to provide transcription and analysis services to us under their respective terms and data handling practices.
5. How we share your information
We share information only as described below.
5.1 Service providers (processors)
We use trusted vendors to operate Together. They process data on our behalf and only as instructed:
| Provider | Role | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, database, file storage, API proxy | Account data, profile, session records, audio files (when cloud sync is enabled) |
| AssemblyAI | Speech-to-text and speaker diarization | Audio recordings and related metadata (partner names, context notes used to improve transcription) |
| Anthropic | AI analysis of transcripts | Attributed transcript text and optional context notes |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | App user ID (linked to your Supabase account), purchase and entitlement data |
| Sign in with Google | OAuth tokens and basic profile information needed for authentication | |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; App Store billing | OAuth tokens and transaction data as applicable |
| Google Play | Android billing | Transaction data as applicable |
We require or expect these providers to protect your information under contractual and industry-standard safeguards. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
5.2 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Enforce our Terms of Service
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Together, our users, or the public
5.3 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
5.4 What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your sessions with other Together users (sessions are private to your account in the current version of the App).
- We do not use session content for targeted advertising.
6. Recording consent and your responsibilities
Together enables you to record conversations. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law before recording another person. Laws vary by jurisdiction; in many places, all parties must consent to a recording.
We do not verify that you have obtained consent. Misuse of recording features may violate our Terms of Service and applicable law.
7. Data storage and retention
7.1 Local storage
The App stores sessions on your device using local database storage. Audio files may remain on your device after transcription to support playback and offline access.
7.2 Cloud storage
When you are signed in, session data (including transcripts, analysis, and optionally audio) is synced to Supabase infrastructure in the United States. Cloud sync lets you recover data across devices and after reinstalling the App.
7.3 Third-party retention
Audio sent to AssemblyAI and transcripts sent to Anthropic are processed to deliver results. Retention by those providers is governed by their policies and our agreements with them.
7.4 How long we keep data
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, unless you delete it sooner. You may:
- Delete local data in Settings → Data & Privacy (removes local sessions and local audio; cloud data is not affected)
- Delete cloud data in Settings → Data & Privacy, or at together.thehackhouse.co/delete-data (removes cloud sessions and cloud-stored audio; your account stays active)
- Delete your account in Settings → Account, or at together.thehackhouse.co/delete-account (permanently removes your account and cloud data)
After deletion, residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS encryption in transit
- Authenticated API access (Supabase Auth) for backend requests
- Row-level security on cloud database tables so users can access only their own sessions
- Private storage buckets for session audio
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
9.1 Account and profile
You may update partner names in Settings. You may sign out at any time.
9.2 Data deletion
Use the in-app controls described in Section 7.4, visit together.thehackhouse.co/delete-data to delete cloud data on the web, or visit together.thehackhouse.co/delete-account if you no longer have the app installed.
9.3 Microphone permission
You can revoke microphone access in your device settings. Without it, you cannot record new sessions.
9.4 Marketing communications
We do not currently send promotional emails based on session content. If that changes, we will provide opt-out mechanisms.
9.5 Regional privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including:
United States (including California):
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to delete personal information (subject to exceptions)
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — we do not sell or share your information for this purpose
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
European Economic Area / United Kingdom:
- Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise these rights, email hello@thehackhouse.co. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.
10. International transfers
Together is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country.
Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Children's privacy
Together is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. Third-party links
The App and website may link to third-party sites (for example, App Store subscription management). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and version number at the top of this document. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, in the App or by email) where required by law.
Your continued use of Together after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Previous versions are archived in the Together Legal repository.
